Looking at past posts reminds me why I was never cut out for account handling – I can’t spell. Unfortunately for suits, no amount of insightful thinking and quick wit makes up for getting your client’s name wrong in the contact report.

It’s been shown lots of times that creative people are more likely to spell wrongly than analytical people.

Being able to spell a client’s name right (i’d imagine) is always a good thing, but I suppose, a reasonable amount of being personable will always help.
Btw, on an unrelated note: cheers for the link. It’s very kind.LikeLike

People get my name wrong all the time (most people spell Colman with an ‘e’).
I’ve found shouting at the agency tends to make sure this doesn’t happen too often.LikeLike

Being the quiet man in the shadows with the funny charts, my name is usually “Whatshisface”.
They used to shout at me too;)LikeLike

Paul, your a wise man. I’ve worked at far too many places that tell people what they want to hear. I think I can feel a new post coming on.

It’s important a client constantly asks themselves “would they still listen to me if I wasn’t holding the budget?”
If I think they would then I speak up, if I think they wouldn’t then I shut up (well at least I try to).LikeLike
